How to Properly Pre-Cleanse
Did you know that a lot of folks out here - a great majority - are “pre-cleansing” incorrectly?
Me, neither.
In case you’re lost, “pre-cleansing” is my word for “pre-poo.” I mentioned in an earlier post how much I dislike the term “pre-poo.” It sounds so…loo-related. So I changed it. I also use “pre-wash.”
Anywhocakes, the link I posted offers a correct way to pre-cleanse your hair (basically a pre-shampoo treatment). I admit that I always neglect to do this because I never had to until now. When I was relaxing, a pre-cleanse treatment just wasn’t part of the process, and I just never took the time to include it once I went natural. But, many deep conditioners for naturals suggest you pre-cleanse (like Aubrey Organics - whoops!) and detangle during, so that when you go to rinse and shampoo, most of the work is already done. I think I’ll try that next time.
Enjoy!
